tried the other options you gave..still same error while running dpkg -i vertica...I am using vmWare

its a vm created from standard ubuntu 12 version distribution. may be i could try with earlier vertica version to see if i get the same error. could you please post link for vertica version 6 as myvertica page shows only latest version download?
