Hi i have 1 column for date as datetime ,
Can u all suggest me the best way to store date and time , to increase the compression ratio.
I mean , in which case compression ratio will be high ????
a) Keeping column as datetime or seperate columns for Date and time ???

NO yaar , thats wat m saying ,
in single node compression ratio s 12 GB befor DBD operation and ONCE i run dbd it is reduced to 5 GB ....
in 3 node after running DBD it is 12 GB (1 backupcopy + Actual data with ksafety 1.... Means Actual data = 6 GB )
1 GB diffrence .

IN single node vertica , For super projection Compression ratio was 12.71 GB .
