Thanks for the reply. I was just curious if Vertica could be installed on VMS. We have an old system and the support does run out next year so we'll be moving the information from it into Vertica. I thought maybe since we're running HP Vax and Vertica is owned by HP that there may be some cross over...

Hi, We had a sales rep from HP tell us that Vertica can also be used as an OLTP. That is, he said we can create a schema that's set up in 3rd normal form as well as another schema using a star shema design all in the same database. Has anyone tried this? Can Vertica be installed on VMS? Yes, we still have VMS (OpenVMS VAX version 7.3).
