Here are a couple of suggestions for GUI tools that work well with Vertica:

• 1. SQuirreL - http://squirrel-sql.sourceforge.net/
  2. SQL Workbench/J - http://www.sql-workbench.net/
  3. Toad for Data Point - http://www.quest.com/toad-data-point/
  4. DBeaver - http://dbeaver.jkiss.org/

Toad is really nice, but its a beta version and expires every three months and needs to be upgraded to the latest beta release which is a pain...
