How to Change Default Editor for vsql in Windows

Hi,
How can I change the default editor for vsql under MS Windows? When I type \e in vsql, Windows Notepad launches. I would prefer to use an editor called Notepadd++.
I tried setting the VSQL_EDITOR environment variable but it did not change the default editor. I tried these ways:
C:\>set vsql_editor=notepad++
C:\>set vsql_editor="notepad++"
vsql always launches notepad!
