Adding a new node to a single host cluster

Post by fotographs » Tue Jul 09, 2013 7:09 pm

I setup a Vertica instance on a single host. The admin Web Page shows a cluster with a single host

I want to add a new machine to the cluster. When I involve the Add Host command form the adminTools menu, I get a message

"All hosts are participating in this cluster"..and nothing happens

Hi,

According to the Admin Guide:
IMPORTANT: If you installed Vertica on a single node without specifying the IP address or hostname (or you used localhost), you cannot expand the cluster. You must reinstall Vertica and specify an IP address or hostname that is not localhost/127.0.0.1.
Do you think this is your issue?
