COPY FROM VERTICA and projections

I assume that when I do COPY [table] FROM VERTICA, the receiving cluster automatically populates the relevant projections?

Meaning, the COPY FROM VERTICA command seems to operate at the logical (table) level, but there is of course the physical/projection level...
