I just heard that the Community Edition will be available in mid-February (2012)!!! Make sure you sign up for the beta program!

How much will it cost? Is it like the mysql free version?

It's free up to 1 TB of storage. I'm not sure what other restrictions Vertica will impose. We'll have to wait until next week to find out!

Hi!
The CE edition is available, but only for a limited number of people. But according to a Vertica representative I spoke to via email, there are plans now to start giving access to the rest of the folks who had signed up for it. He said he expects everyone should hear back from Vertica soon about getting set up... You'll probably get a phone call!
