Yes, those directives work. I will just caution you about using unsupported/undocumented features in a production environment.

Referring to projections by name - that’s ok for testing a single projection, though doesn’t test which of a set of projection the optimizer will select. If you have three pairs of projections, it would be nice to be able to confirm which one will be used for each query.

Oh and Norbert - the enhancement request I had filed on this topic was while I worked at Vertica - directly into the jira database. But you can certainly submit an enhancement request through a Support ticket.

I really wish that Vertica had a community facing issue system to request enhancements and submit bugs.
