I would start by looking at the recommended hardware in the hardware planning guide.

Thanks for your tip , I read the documentation and i knew this part of hardware planning guide and in my production environment I have this HW 16 GB in RAM , 2 TB in HD. ;)

But i want to learn to change the values the configuration in my lab before to change my production environment.
I'm used to using Mysql (Infobright) or Postgres. In these systems you can apply the buffers and threads etc .. and configure my system.

Perhaps I'm not understanding correctly. Are you looking to configure resource pools?

hi norbertk,
No i'm sure my explanation about my problem was no clear (i'm sorry for waste your time :? ), it's my first time that i need to change the vertica configuration and I'm not really sure how to do it . I understand that everything is done through the database itself, right?
I'll follow the instruction
thanks
