Hi,

I'm new to Vertica and I frequently hear about the encoding Vertica uses to reduce storage footprint and to improve the speed of processing queries.

I've heard of DELTA VAL and RLE, and does anyone know the number of types of encoding Vertica employs?

This information is in the documentation. There was also a blog post from HP recently that's worth reading.
