Are you an experienced Database Administrator looking for a new position in Chicagoland? Do you have at least seven years of DBA experience, specializing in Vertica and DB2? If so, we have just the opportunity for you!
TM Floyd & Company is hiring a Vertica DBA to provide support to network administration, provide mainframe support, perform data modeling, develop tables for databases, and develop/support applications for web-based applications. He/she will also provide design, programming, and testing services. The Vertica DBA will also be responsible for the following activities:
•Managing and maintaining all production and non-production databases
•Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration
•Performing backup and recovery on DBMS
•Configuring database parameters and related activities
Required Skills•Strong DBA in Vertica with DB2 DBA experience
•SQL skills and DB scripting in Vertica and DB2
•Extensive experience with UNIX/Linux
•Experience working in a data warehouse environment
•Knowledge of database design, partitions, segmentation, schemas, tables, and cluster management in Vertica
•Working knowledge of Vertica DB architecture, column orientation, high availability and recovery, and utilities such as VSQL, admin tools, and VIProbe
•Knowledge of dimensional modeling, as well as strong problem solving and analysis skills
•Experience with ETL tools / Control-M Job scheduler preferred
•Healthcare experience preferred
