Hey,
One more suggestion. If you are having network issues the node could be going down because it has lost contact with the cluster.
Take a look at the vnetperf utility provided by Vertica. It allows you to measure the network performance of your hosts. It can measure network latency and the throughput for both the TCP and UDP protocols.
You can read about it in the Installation Guide.
Vertica shuts down? Why?

Make sure that you take a look at the vertica.log file on the server that crashed. The log file on each server contains entries specific to the node on which it resides.

Hi,
I'm having the same issue where the DB just shutdown while attempting to start it. Has there been any resolution to this problem?
Thanks
