Segmentation and K-safety in WOS

Post by verticanewbee » Fri Jul 05, 2013 3:29 pm

Hi All

Does Segmentation and k-safety concepts are applicable in WOS? Because WOS in the memory, and how these 2 concepts are achieved. Because while loading data, we are specifying/logging in from 1 particular node - so guess that becomes the initiator. So, now if the data starts loading in WOS, how does segmentation and k-safety are applied (considering it is possible)

Thanks in advance...

Hello,

WOS is write optimized store and ROS is read optimized store. Eventually your data resides/stored in the ROS,
So I believe Segmentation and K- safety happens in ROS.

K-safety is process of building buddy projections for already existing projection on offset nodes, so this has to be a process on ROS and not WOS.

More answers on the Segmentation part are welcomed.
