Yep, I'm a Linux fan myself.

Though I'd rather not turn off process list viewing...being able to ps and see most everything is just too useful.

Wait...are you insinuating that Vertica is poorly written? :lol:

Has anyone asked for a feature where the password can be read in from a file instead of the command line? I think MySQL (gasp) has that.

Didn't know you were referring to vsql itself, though yes, of course it's not part of the vertica db server per se, and of course it's true that the relevant context concerned vsql not the database server.
