A leap second will be added on June 30, 2015 23:59:60 UTC. A leap second is a second which is added to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) in order to synchronize atomic clocks with astronomical time to within 0.9 seconds. The last leap second was added at 23:59:60 UTC on June 30, 2012. More information can be obtained by visiting http://www.timeanddate.com/time/leapseconds.html
Does anyone know of the possible Impacts to Vertica database?

Hi,
Great question! I don't think It will affect Vertica directly. But, check your Linux kernel version and make sure you are not running one that still has not had the bug fixed that brought some systems down (not Vertica) in 2012.
